Your fee
one setting, every round.
You run SLUICE for projects and can take a fee for each round. This page covers where it is set, what the project sees and what happens when it comes to nothing. The fee is zero and inactive until you set it.
01The short version
- You need two things before a round pays you: a fee wallet and a rate or a flat amount. One without the other earns nothing.
- The fee is taken from the funded amount, before it is divided. The project funds 10,000 USDC, you take your fee, holders share the rest.
- It is shown on the dry run before anything moves, next to the network cost.
- It is capped at 2 % of the round in code (
lib/core/compute/operator_fee.dart,maxBps = 200), so a hand-edited settings file cannot get round it either. - There is no default wallet anywhere. Nothing is sent to MIKODES.
The fee is a tool, not a result. What you earn depends on how many projects you run rounds for and how large their rounds are.
02Setting it up
Settings → Operator fee, then Save fee.
| Field | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Fee wallet | Where your fee is sent. A Solana address you control. | empty |
| Fee, basis points | A share of each round. 50 = 0.5 %, 100 = 1 %, 200 = 2 %. Above 200 is reduced to 200. | 0 |
| Flat amount per round | A fixed amount per round, in whole units of the asset the project pays in. "5" on a USDC round is 5 USDC. | empty |
You can set a rate, a flat amount, or both. Both means both are charged: 0.5 % plus 2 USDC, not the larger of the two. What you charge on the next round shows the result before you save.
03What the project sees
- On the dry run: a Your fee line in the payout asset, and a share + flat breakdown when you charge both.
- In the commit confirmation: the same figure and the wallet it goes to.
- In what is signed: your fee is its own batch, never folded into a holder batch.
- In the audit trail and the settlement report: every recorded round carries its fee.
- After an interruption: the fee batch has its own state, so a resumed round neither pays it twice nor drops it.
04When you earn nothing
| What happened | What SLUICE says |
|---|---|
| Nothing configured | Nothing. This is the shipped state. |
| A rate or flat amount, no fee wallet | "A fee is configured but there is no fee wallet, so this round pays you nothing." |
| Round too small for the fee to reach one base unit | "Your fee on a round this size rounds down to zero, so this round pays you nothing." |
| Fee above 2 % of the round | "Your fee was reduced to the 2.0% cap that is built into SLUICE." |
A flat 5 USDC on a 100 USDC round is 5 %, over the cap, so you are paid 2 USDC and told so. On small rounds a rate is the better instrument.
05Across several projects
The fee is an operator setting: one rate, one flat amount, one wallet for every project. For different terms per project, change the setting between rounds. The rate is read when the plan is computed, and each recorded round keeps the figure it was computed with. The settlement report export lists every round with its fee.
06Before your first paid round
- Set a fee walletA Solana address you control.
- Set a rate, a flat amount, or both
- Dry run a real projectRead the Your fee line. If it says none, the warning underneath says which case above you are in.
- Check the receiving accountSLUICE creates your token account for the payout asset inside the fee transaction if needed; the funding wallet pays about 0.002 SOL rent, included in the estimate.
- Commit and confirmYour fee batch is the last batch handed to you for signing.
